A.prof. Min Xie from Nanjing University, China

Research Area:
Atmospheric environment

Research experience:
A.prof. Min Xie received the B. S. degree in 2001 and the Ph. D. degree of Meteorology in 2007 from Nanjing University, China. He worked as a research assistant in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2007 and 2009, and a postdoctoral research fellow in the University of Hong Kong from 2010 to 2012. He also visited the University of Helsinki and Imperial College London as a visiting scholar. Now he is an associate professor in Nanjing University. His research interests include natural emission of trace gases in China, interaction between air quality and climate change in regional scale, meso- and micro-scale modeling on atmospheric environment, and regional environmental impact assessment and planning, etc. He has published over 70 papers in those fields. Some of them simulate the effects of natural emission and weather pattern on regional air quality, and the corresponding countermeasure for regional ozone control. Now, He is investigating how urbanization and climate change affect the regional air quality in the typical city clusters of China, such as the Yangtze River Delta region and the Pearl River Delta region.
